Postby DJ Ohyama » Thu Sep 05, 2002 2:32 pm

I've said it before I'll say it again, don't download anime to make AMVs. For the love of God our hobby borderlines on lawsuit enough as it is, at least be able to say you bought the anime if you are ever confronted.

If you must download, keep it to yourself and try one of the P2P services, like KaZaa or Limewire.

You are quite unlikely to get any direct help here, on these forums.

people come on here and say they dont have a dvd drive but you are probably gonna end up getting on sooner or later so it might as well be sooner they cost very little (mine was £30 which is about $45 i think, and things are cheaper in america so you will get a good deal!)

Wow, they're that cheap now?

Hmmm.... checks Best Buy website...

It's true! There are several DVD-ROM drives there in the range of $50-$70. Go get yourself one; it'll do wonders for your ability to be creative with AMVs. And you'll never have to bug us here, begging for handouts. :D

DJ you have friends?

For me I myself am a poor college student, on a college student budget (thank god for student loans) who is chronically unemployed at that. But I don't go on to ask complete strangers for things giving the I don't have money sob story because gots friends who are willing to help a brother out with a pet project... (I'm currently working on a project from Now and Then, Here and There with clips from a DVD's that belong to a friend of mine).

Its much easier to get things, or leech in my case with people you know and see in the flesh than peeps you ask on an internet bulletin board. I mean I think you'd have much better luck grabbin a CD fulla clips from a friend than having anyone here send you a few hundred megs of EVA clips....

PS is the End of Eva movie out yet I have $30 dollars in my pocket saved up for that dvd  :D

well, thanks for all the tips. Im broke anyways, and this godforsaken town is full of uncultured slobs who dont even know AMVs exist. I think my best bet is Kazaa. anyways, the End of Eva i think comes out in two weeks. Death and Rebirth is already out, but it sucks. Get it in Japanese if you can. The completely got rid of rebirth, and Manga video just re released it using the beginning of Air ( the opening of EoE) the dubbing is Sub-par compared to other projects form Manga. Ill check on an early copy of Eoe i got from a friend to see how it is, and il let yall know, but for now, ill make my Fuel Eoe videos from the same material. Thanks anyways.
