I never said that someone who doesn't understand some pointers is "a total fucktard," as you so eloquently put it. Rather, someone like that is either ignorant (if he or she desires to research and learn how to understand those pointers) or stupid (if he or she wants someone to practically do all the work for them).

Oh, and you spelled "spelled" incorrectly. ;-)

I don't understand some newbies. I'm sure I'm still considered a newbie, but the really stupid ones that disregard all the guides, etc. really bug me. Maybe I'm opening myself up for some flames, but I really think it's how you deliver yourself. If someone is going to be like HoW dO yOu MkE a ViDeO kind of stuff, it's just aggrivating. People need to understand that if they type with some type of intelligence and possibly do a little research then they won't automatically get jumped all over.

I also think the adoptanewbie idea is terrible. I'm sure no one has time to hold anyone's hand. I would probably like to become friends with a few people from here in time, but I wouldn't expect anyone to walk me through amv creating.

This is just my opinion.

Truly, we don't need helping hands. By we, i mean newb's...well some of us do. I don't mean to speak for all the newb's, but i do consider that being nice to newb's is a great way to help the newer generation of video makers. By nice, i mean for the knowledgeable members to offer short direct links to a source of information that will help them out. Such as "Page 3, second paragraph, on ErMac's Guide."

Most newb's are hasty in creating videos and they will most likely skip over some information or they see "Guides" as being huge stacks of papers filled to teh rim with techincally challenging information so therefore they will be reluctant to even check them out. I think it's a state of mind thing, especially when a person is dealing with stuff outside of their normal comprehension; they get blown away by the fact that this stuff is so "new" and so "different" or so "cool."

If nothing else, this site might need a "search guides for this" button so that newbs can quickly and easily go to that area to get the information they require instead of having to through the guides. Of course, going through the guides offer a chance to see all teh information, but most newb's just need short direct statements about where the information for their problem is.

Anyway, I don't mind having some personal help once in a while with some direct points, such has how to make effect A mix with Effect B to create this great effect C or how to fix amplify sound A and mix it with sound B. Again as for helping hands, some newb's might want it, others would rather stand by themselves, and some just want some quick direct information once in a while.

Again, another long post. Thank's for reading.

Whats a Fnord?

I don't Disagree With The guides i frankly think they're pretty good.I Was Just sain that alot of ppl don't get some pointers.
On the MAtter of The Adoption i Think Satori Has a point..even though i think it's still no a bad ideia...not someone who...goes everystep...with the newb but someone..that helps him when he needs...(more "personal attenion) ANd i Agree WIth What Lyrs Wrote

=P Peace

Hey thats cool someone wanna adopt me? I'm housebroken and I don't bite and I'll sit for a treat. I think most newbs (even though I am one so maybe this applies to me too) just are so eager to get their video out there that they don't even want to take the time to learn how to do it well.

In such a case, what one needs to do is [erform some research and learn to udnerstand what the guides say to do. Posting generically "CAN SUM1 PLZ HEL PME I DUN UNDRSTAN THE GIDES" (in so many words) makes one seem like they want their hand held, and aren't willing to do any of the work they ultimately must if they want to produce anything even remotely watchable.

Aha, I do have a correction!

[erform=perform
udnerstand=understand

But those are typos, not grammatical errors, so you're off the hook :wink:
