Newbies: Hosting and the like.

Not to sound contentious, but where? I've checked the entire site and all I can find that's even close is that they provide 40 MB of free webspace. I found nothing concerning a 40 MB upload limit, however. That's different.

Check out <a href="http://www.canaca.com/virtual.html">these packages</a> from www.canaca.com.

The Bronze (lowest-level) plan gets you 5 GB of space and 40 GB of bandwidth (I assume that's per month), and other cool stuff, for starting at $3.95/month (I believe the rates are different depending on how many months you're paying for).

Can't remember. Even so freewebs.com suck so you sould just leave it alone... Or, do you really want to know? My guess is that the licens agreement (if they had any...) mention something like that.

oh man, nobody's posted here in a while. Well, uh...i guess i'll start from the beginning. I'm completely lost. I've downloaded a few ftp....things, but i'm not sure how to use them. I've gotten smartftp, and sourceforge.net. I...need some help here. I get the impression that i need permission from this site to upload amv's as it requests a password and user name, where do i acquire this information?

When you go to Upload Video (from the members main page) and select a valid video to upload, the site should give you a username and password you can use for the FTP server.

But first you have to enter your videos into the database (Enter New Video, also from the members main page).
