havent read everything here, but here's some problems...
1. Downtime - there will be a lot of it because you have no kind of direct connection.
2. Your interest - you will lose it after you reailse that once you HAVE around 50 people signed up for your service, you will have absolutely no personal bandwith, and thus, you will limit the upload speed on your ftp server, leading to unhappy customers and unhappy email.
3. Your server space is too small - I'm not going to pay $15 a year for hosting for one video. 10 people signing up will buy you an 80 gig hdd, thats almost a gig a person per hard drive. you're being incredibly chincy with space.
4. and the biggest factor: How long do you think your ADSL company is going to allow you to run an FTP server before they shut you down, thus you're not delivering what you promise people, in essence, taking their money and not deilvering the results, thus leading you to all sorts of legal problems? Companys like that typically dont like it when you decide to start hosting websites and large transfers.
So, with all due respect, count me out.
