If your dad is gay homophobic, that makes sense. If your dad is lesbian homophobic, that is wack.If your dad is JUST lesbian homophobic, well, that is even more wack.

My parents really like my video and think that this is a great hobby. My dad used to do work in television graphics and with video compression company so he *loves* it.
Besides, it's more productive than video games.

OK, now this is really depressing. I just showed my mom my vid and she hated it too. I guess the vid just really does suck. Oh well...

Oh my, I haven't shown them to anyone IRL, although some may go over okay. (My dad knows ABOUT AMVs, having run into them while downloading huge amounts of "regular" music videos, and has gotten some for me at random - an odd but nice gesture. )

My mom is already hugely wary of anime, so there's no chance there. lol. I don't mind, she doesn't give me grief about it; she just doesn't understand it. (After she heard I bought some anime DVDs, she commented, "The weird anime stuff?" I just laughed and said "A lot of anime's weird." I don't know what she expects. I mean, it was CB and Trigun. Dude. Nothing that American movies don't already do.)

Aaaaaanyhow, if I ever made one that was presentable but not too artsy I might show it to my dad. He'd get all parentally impressed and whatnot (a bit sad, as I'm 25 - you'd think he'd be past that) but it would at least explain why I can rattle off stuff about compression and so on whenever the topic comes up.

I'm still debating whether to run my Star Ocean vid past my housemates, as they got me into the band I used in the first place. *shrug*

My dad usually likes my videos the most if it has music he likes or has heard before, therefore, he liked my Shaft video, my Beatles video, my Billy Joel video, my Madonna video, and strangly enough my X-Japan video.
Once I showed my dad one of my X-Japan concerts I suddenly turned him into a fan.
*shruggs*

I guess that's pretty cool since he'll let me crank up the volume when he drives me places.

My dad has been wanting to see my video for a while but I think it's utter crap so maybe later. I plan on putting my Vertigo video on DVD and adding The world's strongest as a B-side (Muse style) then he can watch the old crap video first and get shocked by my disturbed mind with my new one. My dad usually supports stuff I do so I bet he'll be cool with it. I doubt my mom would even understand what I'm doing so I won't even bother...

It's kind of a bit sad about how some feel their parents don't support or approve of making music video.

I think though most will agree it sure beats taking drugs or getting involved in violence, etc. On the contrary, making music videos help learn skill, meet friends and make contacts as well as build character, patience (lots of that!) and many other good things...

Hmmm.... Ok, so it's not always true, but I'm sure it is in most cases....

Wow A Father and Son team, what will they think of next!

Actually, I can up with a really great concept for a video but it would take about 1000+ hours to do so I figured I'd forget it. Funny think is that my Dad like the concept so much that he is even willing to help work on it!
