Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (aka: When they Cry)
Tonari no Seki-kun (aka: The Master of Wasting Time)
The show's can't be any more polar opposites than each other. Higurashi basically requires you to watch all 52 episodes before you realize how good it is, while Tonari no Seki-kun has to be my favorite set of 5-minute long anime shorts.
One is basically horror, the other is very lighthearted comedy.

Rurouni Kenshin (in particular the prequel movie "Samurai X") is the epitome of sad romance, and ought to be quite a foil to more lighthearted anime... like Rurouni Kenshin (the series).Sephirothskr wrote:I need romance anime, like, sad romance.
