I DID READ THE ENTIRE THREAD.
I was just stating how it came off to me.

Yue linked me when I complained on facebook that "shit wasn't getting done, and I didn't expect anything to be done".

And changing your user name, I had no clue it was you. People need to stop changing your user names. :/ What am I supposed to stalk every fucking org member to make sure I know who the fuck you are after you change your sn?

Right now, you are pretty much proving my case. Did you really need to "flip me off" with gif images? I thought this was the community that was oh so good at taking critical feedback? what happened to that?

It's not my fault that's how most of it came off to someone who was just reading through it. I know that there was more to it than that, but it was mostly "if you don't like it code it yourself" and "it's not done yet guys! give it time" (via pwolf).

So because of that I didn't feel that there was any reason for me to even want to try to contribute, because it would be brushed off or ignored. What does it matter I'm not a coder so I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about anyway.

When you blatantly state that you only accept feedback from a limited list of people how is that supposed to make the rest of us feel? Like our ideas are valid? Like we have something worth contributing?

At this point, I don't even fucking care if the damn site gets an overhaul or not.

There are some things that I am indeed unwilling to compromise on. In those cases it is indeed a case of [deal with it].

Many other things, though, are open for discussion, and evoke more of a [hmm].

All the same, while I appreciate the effort, I can also see why some people are turned off by the abrasiveness of the responses in that thread. That's not a suggestion to water it down or be less direct to those concerned, but I can see how this might turn off the average site visitor who comes in to see what progress is being made and instead sees a bunch of "fuck yous", even where progress is being made.

On the other hand, I think people also have jumped into conclusions about the redesign, which suggests some sort of miscommunication. I for one don't get this hostility that people are having to "fuck this site design, this is lame and sterile!" because I'm not sure where they're even getting that and what they're basing this judgment on, especially given the disclaimers, but maybe there is just something in the message that's not getting through.

This is pretty much what I'm seeing, it seems like the majority of people are trying to be well-meaninged and/or humorous and people are just taking it the wrong way or not getting it and then all hell breaks loose.
