I gave audio editing another go, using Vegas this time. It worked quite a bit better than my attempts in Audacity. Thanks to everyone who mentioned using video editing software for audio editing.

It's not about being "easier to edit", it's about the finished product. I have no qualms "destroying" audio if it means my video will turn out more like I imagined it. *shrug*

I guess it may be something that just made that impression on me when infact there are probaby just as many who do it for artistic approach rather than lazyness. More and more shorter and shorter videos that used to pop out leaving me wondering "That's it..? Why didn't you do the whole song?" or anything similiar. I never really felt that a song cut would be a good decision.
