Yaaay! AMV Review! :D

This is obviously not an official org thing.
Also, there is ranting, cursing, and lots of bad stuff. Don't listen if you're offended by any of that kind of stuff.

Thanks again to our awesome guests!

Here are all the videos we reviewed:

I really liked this  It's pretty interesting to hear first thoughts and stuff like that on videos as you watch them.
Some videos I'd like to see you guys touch on would be stuff like Kain's , Copycat_Revolver's , GuntherAMV's , and my video, .
But anyways, this is really awesome and I really look forward to new ones to come! :awesome:

Currently listening.

RS, forgive me but I have to ask it :

Am I the only one who thinks that RS has a particular accent even for an American guy? XD

I survived!

Was expecting far more harshness on Sail On XD I used to get way worse than that.

Pretty much spot on, stuff I remember taking days over there are now plugins for to do in seconds T_T I was outdated even back then, I was using Mediastudio Pro, that was 2001-era software, you can't even run it on modern machines outside of a virtual machine XD but as far as I know most common Premiere plugins and AE in general were pretty absent back then anyway..

The bits you guys picked up on were the most rushed, though I'd have picked a few more holes! There's still an orphan frame in there I never fixed XD The comment about the page turning part was new to my ears though, that's made me think a bit.

Yep, Shounen Bushido was a big inspiration since that's how I heard about Masterplan in the first place. Not denying that one!

Highlight for me was hearing the reaction to it being in the top 10 list or "Wait.. Sail On is a 'classic'?" XD

I got a *lot* of flak for its popularity, especially since Narutrix was my video before it, got accused of rigging the Org several times through all my powerful connections or something :P Hilarious to me since I still barely know anyone in the community, there isn't even an AMV community *at all* in the UK -_-

In all honesty I put it down to the weird situation One Piece was in back then. Something like 130 episodes had aired before the first fansubs appeared, other editors weren't crazy/stupid/obsessive enough to hunt down and trawl that many episodes in one go for a video, TV raws were long gone, softsubs were unheard of, hardsubbed HK bootlegs were all the internet had prior, so it was a bit of a mess anyway, and then the 4kids dub came along and trashed what was left! When Sail On came out there were like.. 4 or 5 other OP videos total? Mostly from only a handful of episodes, or had subs on, plus the biggest (also only) fansub group at the time advertised it when I put it out there so it got a ton of exposure it wouldn't have if released today.

So yeah, apparently I took advantage of an AMV-starved hardcore fanbase. Go me?

On the other hand I'm really happy to hear the comments about feeling the love in it XD That was always the greatest compliment I've ever had on it, and it's true I poured six months of my life into that monstrosity and wouldn't take them back.

While there are a ton of OP videos on YT these days, I don't always get the same impression from them I tried to put in, of "I freakin' love this show, I shall henceforth attempt to make you love it also!", I've not really found many that take steps to avoid/obscure spoilers, try to make it accessible to people who haven't been keeping up or seen any of it at all, or show stuff from more than a single arc, I like to think that makes it a little different, but also something I think only the long term fans would really even notice or care about. :P

Thanks for the nostalgia trip! I haven't watched that thing in years.

Pretty lengthy thing you have there. Felt oddly compelled to keep listening though.

EDIT - The outtakes made my night.

I'm not an unbiased party, but I think an hour is the perfect length for something like this. It's not like these will happen every week.

An hour is a bit daunting for some people. You could split it up into segments for each video, but still release them all together.

For the youtube release, it'd probably do better overall if each AMV review was its own video, but have a downloadable version that is intact in its entirety.

True. From the perspective of this being a podcast, an hour length is perfect. Since there's a video aspect to it, though, splitting it up wouldn't hurt.

I'm glad it went through some form of post-production and was cut down so that it gave the impression people managed to stay on topic. If it was tons of goofing off and tangents for an hour, I wouldn't have listened to it that long. There was substance to this and it kept on focus enough to be entertaining.
