Re: The Lip Flapper: Main Thread

Ok, so I think it's time I updated a little bit on "The State of the Flapper".

Ahem...

April: April panels and interviews have all been collected and are ready to go. Thankfully, the calendar has been updated and scheduling is back on track. Unfortunetely, my Friday reviews are going a little slower than I would have liked. Mostly because I cannot find a formatting that is easy to read and tasteful, but also because trying to get anything done on Friday that isn't taxes is just plain out of the question. :uhoh: I may make it an "every other week" thing to help with my own scheduling until further notice.

May: I'm happy to confirm that Ileia, Pink Haze and Nya-Chan Production have been confirmed as interviewees for the month of May. Reggiesmalls is also a possible candidate, but I'm waiting on confirmation from two other editors before I can say for sure if he'll be in May or June.

Regarding PDFs/Digital Formats: I'm not going to lie, so I'm just going to say that they're basically on a stand-still. The girl that I had working on the formatting hasn't touched it (since it's a "free" job) since I last mentioned it to you all, so it may end up being me again that does the formatting, which won't be done until after the 20th of April (if not later).

Regarding Panels: Yes. I know I've been slacking on panels. It's hard to find "experts" in certain things that I really want to talk about, so I've been putting off a lot of panels until I'm satisfied that they're as good of quality as past panels. Plus, one attempted panel I tried had 5-6 people all say the exact same paragraph almost word for word. Not really an entertaining read there. XD The effects panel is coming, and a "studio" panel is also in the works. Can't really promise much outside of those at the moment.

????: MiMS interview will be held eventually. I'm waiting for a time when I can do a "culture" month with all the different AMV communities getting a spotlight. Chiikaboom has yet to finish her interview questions, so that on is still on hold until further notice.

Feedback: So? I hate to keep doing the same thing month after month! Please let me know if you have a fun idea that you'd like to see implemented on The Lip Flapper! Now that I have proper recording equipment, nothing is out of bounds. :)

Thanks for all the continued support!

I apologize for this week's delayed Lip Flapper. I've had two VERY late nights at work. WILL be done tomorrow morning. Scout's honor. *salutes*

Meanwhile, for days like this, I'm currently looking for someone to help assist me with the lip flappers during my more busy / out of reach moments. (basically someone that can fill in for me when I'll be out of town or busy during days like I have these previous two days). If you're interested, please contact me via pm.

I'll like to ask since I checked the future panels: You got one about Culture. Since I was already working in the article, but seems convincing my other mates will be a problem, should we make what I already have into a Lip Flapper, or should I continue waiting?

I'll get in touch with you shortly Tritio. ;)

Sorry for the lack of updates. If you follow my twitter or read my vent thread, I've been busy with the last stages of tax season pain/suffering. Been working overtime until nearly 10-11 PM at night every night.

Expect 3 episodes of "The Lip Flapper" on Wednesday (taking an extended vacation from work!). Last week's effects panel, this week's Monday interview and a bonus "I'm sorry for the lack of updates" interview. I think you'll enjoy the bonus episode. :)

I'd love to see future lip flappers as actual conversations with audio (it just seems like it would add something special to the whole lip flapper experience, ykno?) and the text just in case. Also it'd be cool if you held like an ic thing and had an editor talk about what is going their mind while editing. This could also be put into effect during IC MEPs too (probably long ICs though). It would be something like a LIVE lipflapper. Also maybe make some that are more educational based where the person you interview talks about editing stuff like transitions, sync, effect etc. Those are all my sugestions for now, I look forward to the upcoming lip flappers! Keep up the great work!

Just a quick announcment that "The Lip Flapper" will be going on a short hiatus until I finish my final examinations and a few work-related certification exams. Please expect the lip flapper to return on May 9th, 2012, where it will be moved to its new Wednesday position update.

If it wasn't already obvious, the lip flapper has returned (albeit, a bit later than originally promised). I'm still getting re-organized since it's been a while since I did most of these things, but I do have interviews lined up. As my work load continues to slowly decrease, I'll be able to put more effort into the project. I'm working out a deal with a few people to help me get a website setup for easier/standardized editing (as well as a place to host Project OrgEditor and the future contest Project WarEditor).

I'll also shortly update the front page of this thread. Good Lord it's gotten messy. >_>

That'd have to be a 2 part series...one interview for me, and another for my massive ego! :bear:
