Funny experiences when editing AMVs

Postby TritioAFB » Sun Nov 06, 2011 9:46 am

Have you ever had any funny experience when making an amv? At my case everytime I edit a video, and when I'm home (from time to time I visit my home) my little brother gets pissed off because he has to do all the cleaning labors in the house and I keep editing during that time. And he always yells: Why Tritio doesn't do anything? and my mom says: Cause he works in the hospital, you're in vacations and you don't do anything.

"Tritio doesn't do anything (referring to AMVs). I play videogames" - Bro
"I like his videos. You should try doing the same in the future" - Mom

hahahahahaha  . He kinda hates amvs just because of the labors he has to do, which are just in the morning I have to say.

So, what about you crowd? any experience you'll like to share

Nope, it's only pain for me. Excruciating pain with no fun at all.

I tend to "lose time" while I edit.
I don't live with my parents or siblings so no real interaction from there.
One time my cat stepped on the switch on the power strip and I lost a few hours worth of work, it made me learn to save more often.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
My nieces and nephews want to learn how to edit now and I let them all play in wmm once so each of them has technically made a video... however I wouldn't let them join the org until they are old enough to join a forum. (They currently range from 7 to 13)

No funny experiences with my family. They hate my hobby with all their might, but don't talk about it anymore since they owe me a huge sum of money and I offer many lovely services to them. Although my little sister does like them.

Uhhhhh.... I guess a funny experience happened when I was editing "Betwixt and Between II". I had to play the same Taylor Swift song nearly 1000x during that process. At this time, I had speakers instead of my studio headphones. So for Christmas, I was shocked when at least 3 people got me the different Taylor Swift albums. I asked "WTF?!" Apparently, they thought I had an obsession with Taylor Swift and wanted to get me the actual albums instead of the itunes versions.

XD

Funnily enough, they're my favorite CDs I ever got, and get played very frequently. |:>

Only other funny thing is when somebody at the college of business found my name via Youtube and saw Betwixt and Between II. I got a lovely conversation about Taylor Swift stabbing Justin Beiber out of that.

At ACen a few years back, during the Iron Editor competition, we decided that a Nerf gun battle while we were editing would be fun. Mostly, we just harassed the host.

Other than that, everything else is pretty tame. I do have a tendency to giggle uncontrollably while I'm editing, though.

I volunteer at a youth group at my church, and we were having a video game night. I set my PS3 up to a projector and started playing AMVs until more people got there. The pastor popped in just for a bit just in time to see my 'It's Ok If It's You' video, complete with girl-on-girl crushes, apparent guy-on-guy crushes, and Haruhi in a bra. I got a very interesting look from pastor xD

Actually, both of my parents enjoy watching my vids, which is kinda nice. When they saw It's Ok If It's You, in the middle of the vid they turned around at the same time and gave me a look which said "What the heck am I watching?".

I guess it's also worth noting that Pastor enjoyed my Halloween vid, randomly enough.

Nothing outstanding really, but when I get into it I talk to myself a lot, much like I do when I play games. "OH SHIT, DAT CUT" "WHY WON'T IT WORK!?!?" stuff like that.

I came home from work one day, and the first thing that my mom told me was that she saw one of my AMVs on youtube. Before I could even ask which one she saw, she started talking about each individual scene, and I was completely caught off guard. The AMV that she had seen was my video. To make matters even worse, she started to replay the video on the computer and made me explain each scene one by one. To say the least, that was a really awkward and uncomfortable moment. As a added bonus, my grandfather was also in the room :uhoh:

The only thing I have that's close to that is that I stopped my dad from watching a Loveless video on my ipod with the reason: you don't want to watch that, it has boys kissing in it.. when he asked me if I made it, I told him I did, and he rolled his eyes and shoved the ipod back at me. It's fine though, I've got dirt on him XD

I would hate to have to make that kind of explanation to my folks about why I've made an AMV about Loveless. :uhoh:

I would have just DIED.

At least your hentai intro wasn't really PURE hentai though. THAT would have been fun.

Lol I didn't even bother explaining it to him, and he didn't ask. He didn't even know what Loveless was. He just knows that I'm into those "weird japanese cartoon things"

AMV editing is serious business to have any funny stuff going on. 8-)

Or at least I haven't had anything funny happen while I've been editing :nose:

I once edited a video with Todd on a plasma TV while Jay, Brad, Grace, Liz, Ileia and Eric were standing around the couch shouting at us. I do recall yelling the words "I won't change for you or anybody!" at some point.
