Getting Animes For AMV

Postby sholin360 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 1:03 am

I was wondering how do you get animes for AMVs without sub or water mark?
Because every time I want to remove it I have to crop then stretch the aspect ratio so much that it blurs and the graphic quality is bad.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

http://www.rightstuf.com for example.

Also, if you crop a logo... don't stretch the anime afterwards. Just crop it to some valid aspect ratio.

Sure feels good to be that 1% that actually edits with DVD's/Bluray and supports the anime industry though.

That's more worse than what I said.

I wasn't "Encouraging piracy", i was simply telling him the option nobody had mentioned, trying to force the opinion of "you must buy all dvds to edit amvs" is ludicrous.

Only things which would require you to be rich are Japanese DVDs and BDs (as in the actual Japanese edition) which truly have insane prices. Prices in Europe and in the US are more than affordable, really.
Then again, my perception about cheap and not could be skewed by the cost of life over here compared to whatever prices you're used to in the US, but yeah.

Why has no one mentioned renting or borrowing yet? You can always rent them, make the video, then send the disc back...I prefer to own, but I've needed small clips from a random show before so I borrowed the disc from a friend. I've also been wanting to remaster my first AMV and I don't have that series, so I've thought about renting it since I don't have in my budget to purchase such a long series right now. As long as you aren't keeping copies of the discs, i don't think it's a big deal.

Yes, that does work well too.
I've had friends borrowing me anime, actually (though just for watching generally, rather than for AMVing)... I hardly think about renting though because over here it's quite hard to find good renting services that offer many anime (and there's no netflix either).
