Never the same song twice....

Postby BishounenStalker » Wed Feb 19, 2003 2:06 pm

Anyone else out there have trouble listening to a song you used in an AMV? I can never listen to song the same way again. I keep seeing the scenes fom my videos. Especially the first one, since I spent more time on it. Any ideas on how to cure this little nuissance?

I find this happening to me a lot too, but it doesn't bother me much. :)

It's a curse that happens to everyone. Once you make an AMV you will never be able to hear that song again without imagining the AMV in your head. I don't mind except on some occassions.

I thought that was one of the fringe benefits of creating the AMV... you never actually have to watch it again, just play the song and it'll play in your head =P no downloading, no computers, no monitor, no clunky laptops, no expensive equipment, it's just all up there... either that or you go nuts =P

We should go on some crusade to inform newbies about this so that they don't produce complete crap (they'll produce "not quite crap" instead).

I get this all the time. Since the two vids I've done so far are to songs I listened to frequently... and still do... I've got my vids engrained in my skull, down to the last cut and fade.

Not that that's a bad thing, of course.

Yeah, had this happen (as a result, whenever I listen to 'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' I feel a great pang of guilt for that P.O.S.)
Hell, even had it happen with vids I haven't even started yet (the planning plays out in my head with the song)

Same, I find it annoying sometimes and I notice that I don't listen to these songs as much anymore. I still like them though.

Forget my OWN videos, I find it hard not to see videos in my head when listening to songs, where the song was used in one of my favorite AMVs not made by me (wow. that sounded really engrish, but I dont know any other way to say it). Everytime I heard 'The Becoming' by NIN I see Hsien's 'Transformation' video in my head. Same goes for many of my other favorites.

I just choose to listen and make videos using awesome songs. That way, after spending hours and hours of listening and editing, I still enjoy it. Unless it's some crap that I'm doing just because I CAN....then I just turn off the radio when the song comes on
