DDR2 BitTorrent

Postby klinky » Wed Feb 19, 2003 1:18 pm

OMG everyone is doing BitTorrent, I guess I'll try my hand. Let's see if it works. This is for the rather large DDR2 project. It's 700MB.

It may go slow at first. Get as many people as you can in on it ^_^. Instructions & the download are on the site.

MY gosh :O

I put the wrong link there lemme fix it...

Fixed...

BitTorrent, is a "new" form of P2P transfer. It's pretty simple. Just download the installer and click on the .torrent links. It's a bit harder to share files, but it's quite easy to get files. It's big strong point is that it's very novice friendly.

Hmmmm. I've got crap playback on mine. I've got the XviD codec and everything, and DivX, but for some reason, I get these little distorted and multicolored parts of the image when something moves, and it's real slow and choppy. Maybe it's BitTorrent...

Hmmm that sounds more like klinky used qpel or some other xvid development option that is causing these errors. Install ffdshow.

Alternatively it could be a side effect of the source footage already being recompressed too many times before making the DVD. My video in particular shows that it's gone through too many transitions, which isn't really anyone's fault in this case.

Hey,
I downloaded about 25% of the project, but my connection is fairly unstable so my connection dropped and I continued the download just fine. Then my connection dropped again, and now the download window has hung at "Starting Up..." for about a 1/2 hour now. I'm guessing there's no one sharring the file, and then my question is, if there's no one sharring the file, how can someone download it? Maybe I just don't get how BitTorrent works... But when can I expect my download to start again?

I've got roughly 01:30:00 left on the download, but since BT is a simultanious upload/download device, it screws my downstream bandwidth and I need it all so Tash can upload the VOBs from the YYH "OVA" set to me. (I know, bad me, but I don't want to wait 2 or 3 weeks for the DVD set)
