My average vids take me 20-40 hours to finish, but then again, my vids aren't nearly as good as some of the others on the site. Also, try not using all caps...it's very annoying.

Animated or not makes no differenmce. And the length of tyime it takes depends on how much effort you want to put into it and how complex the video idea will be. A fusion video (merging two or more series seemingly into one) would take longer than a simple straight-cut video.

Depends on how motivated I am. I can crank out videos pretty fast. And I'm told my a few colleagues they are pretty good. I define fast as about 5 to 7 hours.

Yep, depends on the video. Even a simple videos can take a long time depending on the material avaiable for it. It also depends on the importance you put on every scence in the video.

I've also done a ton of non-anime videos as well and I they tend to go faster since there isn't as much intensity as in anime ones. Reason for that? The sheer facts that anime videos are done on a much larger scale than live action. I really only know of a few contests for non-anime video..

In terms of the "fusion" video, it all depends on how much fusion and how close to perfection one wants to go. That can verry but normally will be in the 100s of hours. The last one I did took over 350+ hours...

I LIKE TO WRITE IN ALL CAPITALS BECAUSE IT ADDS EMPHASIS TO WHAT I AM WRITING. AS YOU CAN TELL, WHAT I AM WRITING RIGHT NOW IS VERY IMPORTANT. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO READ EVERY WORD I HAVE WRITTEN HERE BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU MIGHT MISS SOMETHING. THAT'S ALL I COULD THINK TO ADD TO THIS ALREADY HEADY DISCUSSION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION.

Well, that was pretty obvious, earthcurrent.

At least he wasn't asking for clips...and no!

So yeah.

Oh yeah, just realized the irony of me having a cat avatar after my previous avatar killed your X-mas kitty one.

News flash. Bold Text does the same thing.

Also people can read words faster if they can see the shape of it. FOR EXAMPLE! WHEN CAPPED LIKE THIS ALL LETTERS ARE THE SAME SIZE.

But like this letters have different hieghts, by recongizing the shape it makes faster to read. Understand?

Takes me roughly 70-90 hours of actual editing to finish a video. There really shouldn't be a difference between animated and non but for me it's reduced to maybe 40 hours. The non animated ones I've made are for grades and class projects so I am sloppier with them since I know they aren't viewed as critically as my AMV ones submitted to cons are.

Wow. I knew the Stoics were about eliminating emotion, but I didn't think that they had advanced so far as to kill off their sense of sarcastic humor.

That, or this particular Stoic is violating his code of ethics by getting angry over such a trivial issue.

Anyway...

The amount of time it takes to finish a video can range from really short to insanely long. My current project has taken a good half a year to get to the 1:30 mark, and I've still two and a half minutes of music to work with (actually, a bit longer). It's all about what you do with it.

Oh yeah, and THESTEELRONIN: lay off the caps. It makes you look dumb.

Stoic does not get angry, Stoic simulates Anger through his creatitive writting class. They are trying to teach me how to write emotionally...

There is no set time in which you are required to finish a video. Some say 40 hours some say 400. I am on hour number 250 with my current project. But my EOE projectwas competed in a day, just (literally seconds) under 4 hours. It's all about how long it takes you to become satiated. Personally I think some of my best works were complete in the shortest times.

And... FYI: I would lay off the caps and multiple gramar marks. And for the love of gawd, explain your problem/question throughtly and coherantly, with concreate examples, and in a mannor fitting to your shoe size. Not I.Q.

Obvisously no one has dropped 10 tapes on your lap and said

Come up with something good, I need it by 8:30 am tommorow morning

But that only happens to us who are paid for our work...
