I've only briefly met him at Otakon a couple of times. Seemed like a cool guy. Sad to hear this.

I've only met him briefly, but he seemed like a good guy.

RIP Justin. ;_;

Man...wow. Like many others, I had no idea he was battling cancer. Roll was a good man. I had the honor of competing against him in AMV Iron Chef at Kumoricon 2009. Last time I saw him was April at Sakura Con 2010. I'm so in shock right now. He will be missed.

oh fuck...

This just killed my day. He was a cool guy and I was glad I had the chance to hang out with him at SakuraCon this year. Was really looking forward to seeing him next year also.

I never got the opportunity to meet him, but my condolences go out to his family and friends. It's great to see so many of the "older generation" of editors expressing their sympathies here as well.

Agreed. I never had the opportunity to meet him but I've only ever heard great things about him over the last few years. My condolences to his friends and family.

Sad news indeed and a major loss for the community.
Tomorrow we all need to dedicate a while slew of time to working on videos.

I had met him briefly at Tekkoshocon 4 in 2006 during the contest showing. Since then, we never really ran into each other. Now I'll never again be able to meet with such a talented creator who's work will continue to inspire us well into the future.

Even though my only interactions with him were through the forum here (and I'm not sure if there was ever any direct conversation), this is quite a shock. I'm kind of at a loss for words.

Wow..I never really had much to do with him, but still this makes me feel low. Visualizes how ephemeral life is...

My condolences to his family, friends and everyone who knew him.

I will be editing as well this night..quite a weird coincidence that I just got all my sources ready yesterday...
