Games unlike films are interactive and the picture you see is computed 'on the fly'. There's no living person involved in adjusting focus so unless there will be some sort of a device (camera) tracking what part of the screen you're looking at (like in advanced military airplanes,) you will always have eyestrain from 3D in games. From my experience 'automated' 3d doesn't work well.

Prototypes work really good. I hope they can make it work with Kinect. At least this guy is in the Kinect project:

Here's a test. On youtube, next to quality settings in the lower right corner you'll find a "3D" button, select "Red / Cyan Glasses (Full Color)" from the list.

I don't know why the hell it changed the proportions (16:9 to 4:3 picture,) also it's pretty slow on my system (Linux.) I won't use this method for the final video.

I don't get it... How does YouTube get that this is supposed to be 3D? And what did you upload to achieve it? It offered me a crapload of 3D settings O_O

If that's the case for 3D, I'm waiting for hologram projector + Wii. I'm just glad they're experimenting with 3D just so maybe later on it will lead to bigger and better things.

@ Beowulf
Gimmick my ass, this music video is specially made with 3D in mind.

@ Bauzi

If you have a side-by-side video, all you have to do is add a tag (yt3d:enable=true) that tells youtube that the video is 3D. This has been around for a while now. However I wouldn't recommend watching any 3D videos on the site because the compression is terrible. And also most people who upload their 3d videos have no _BASIC_ know-how on stereoscopy. Obviously the code won't make a normal video 3d, you have to shoot it with two cameras as if they were eyes and put the 2 images together side by side. Make sure you understand what CONVERGENCE is before you start making anything in 3D.

I'm finished with animating characters. Now I'm setting up cameras and will start rendering shortly.

Just because a gimmick is an integral part of your concept doesn't make it not a gimmick.

I see. I still have a media magazin around somewhere that has a tutorial in it on how to make comps 3D. It told you everything you need to know by scratch and introduced you in some 3D plugins for Cinema 4D and stuff.

We made such project during our assignment in Hyper Island. We simply had 3 weeks to come up with an idea to integrate both technology and animation, this wasn't a simple task of course. Our group ended up doing a short 3D movie during those three weeks by experimenting the stereoscopy aspects, and it worked just fine.
