Jes, if I could edit videos outside of my home, believe me. I would have a ton more videos done |:

Just using a netbook just for clipping, 10" monitor works fine to go through episodes and pick out footage for the video, actually running premiere on 1024x600 D: oh god no... It does make it easier to do the more tedious stuff while not being distracted at home.

dunno why, but i need up to 3 people on skype. Any more and it's distracting.

(I think it's because I can bounce ideas off of someone, or because I have just enough distraction while I do something repetitive like rotoscoping.)

After switching to HD I seriously can't image to edit on systems with less than 720p.

I wouldn't call it a comfort, but I generally only edit when I'm in 'the mood'

What puts me in 'the mood' changes depending on the day, after all, 'the mood' is different for every video I make since I prefer to be in 'the mood' that I want the viewer to be in when they watch it.

Though some booze doesn't hurt. Having a full stumac also doesn't hurt. Also having cold wal-mart brand sugar-free kool-aid and Pepsi (throwback if I can find it) in my fridge next to my PC is also nice to have while editing so I can quench my thurst.

When I edit I tend to wander off in my own head. You know when I'm just getting through with an editing session as I tend to be skinnier and more acne prone due to long lengths of time between meals/ showers lol... this is usually the time when I search for a life outside of video editing (or gaming).

That's a terrible way to do it :| but there's no one THING I need, except for a chair, desk and a computer. I prefer to have somebody who would feed me every 12 hours though, but...

I prefer to have a computer quick enough to watch my finished video in, and speakers galore (:) I'm very audio oriented :)) but I've gone with just the basics.

when I edit I use the whole song, I don't really work in segments (until the final/ beta stage) so that's sort of built in inspiration. I can handle the redundancy, I just listen to my song over and over again while sifting through the anime without sound (the anime doesn't have sound, I do :)). I can use headphones or speakers. I REALLY prefer to NOT be bothered during this. IMs/ Skype I mean. I don't care if outside ppl call me... I tend to hear them even with my earphones on :) it's uncanny really :) I've only edited once with Skype and hated it. I might turn on an IM BUT if I get in a convo I can only do that :(. I like to take care of whatever I can beforehand (haircut and stuff) cuz when I'm editing I'm literally gone :| but. Luckily I can stop whenever I want... however it's really dificult to start up again :( I usually get distracted. Most days when I'm online I have Premiere open in the background.

When I'm not actively arranging clips, I need some kind of background noise. I usually play the song I'm editing to on loop, but I might switch that with the vuvuzela. I find it pretty soothing, to be honest, and since it's a constant tone, I don't have to wait for a specific point to switch it off when I start moving clips again.

My chair is horrible. (anyone have any serious great chair recomendations? PM me) After I finish a long project, its hard to get the next one started. I think this maybe 'the mood' problem :)
Munchies and RockStar help, occasional meal replacement bar to limit the getting up when everything is flowing.

I need a better chair. I think my back is getting all flexed from sitting in it too much. :x

1. Not having things to do the next day helps; means I can stay up 'til hell freezes. I have a hard time editing during the day, probably due to working late on every other project I have.

2. A warm drink is awesome. I try not to drink coffee late at night, so tea works.

3. An open window. It's oddly comforting, even when it's cold out.

(if i finish it i just end up replacing it a few seconds later.) i also prefer the lights in the room being on, but it doesn't really matter.

The above, as well as having a good pair of headphones (which I have), at max volume.
Comfortable clothes are also nice, not a must, but it kinda is a way of NOT getting distracted by something feeling off.

The noise level either has to be very low or completely silent. I don't mind having the TV play downstairs while I'm working, but if my sister is blowing her sax in the room next to me, I can't work.
