Hey, just registered just so i could post here lol.

Anyways, i know no one mentioned this, but Soul Eater needs more good AMV's. So far i searched for a week and found only two good one's for it. Both are on youtube

I dare to disagree

You have overlooked many good SE AMVs, probably because you were looking on YT only. BTW both of those vids can be found and downloaded here.

I'm surprised that Summer Wars really got mentioned. I saw it this week and it was pretty good. It's from the same people as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and so I really don't understand why it's that underused :|

Maybe one good video is missing that would start all the hype.

I'm surprised why people don't use Natsu No Arashi. This artstyle is surely welcomeing for all you Shinkai whores out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jge9E_d4wyQ

and where are my awesome Sunabozou aka Desert Punk AMVs? :|

The design work and animation is beautiful. It's very easy to edit to, because it maintains its high standard of quality throughout the series. Kind of like the Ef series, it gets pretty creative and experimental, especially the coloration and camera angles. It's both very dramatic and very heavy on the action, so you can choose between different genres.
And it's one of my all-time favorites, so some good vids would make my heart go pitty pat.

But there's only a handful of Casshern vids on the org. Maybe it's not popular enough. Prolly it's because the online DLs are watermarked (I preordered the BDs so don't look at me like that).

I'm hoping some people will start working with it when it hits America's shelves two months from now.

I tried CS again and: UGH. Sorry to critisize your anime this directly, but I dislike it so much. The graphic style is unsexy for me. Everything is dark and the fight scenes are bad for me. You can't see shit and you have to guess what's going on. The 1. episode turned me off so fast!

Engage epic tangent maneuver!

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to prattle on about the things I love about this show! ^_^ Our tastes are opposites; everything you see as a vice I think is wonderful.

Bauzi wrote:Everything is dark
Totally! It's a dark show (hint: everyone has a terminal illness); it's fitting for the style to follow suit. I've always been a big fan of the (classic Batman TAS-esque) high-contrast lighting with deep black shadows.
And there's plenty of variety--you basically get a new, often colorful setting every episode, from desolate wastelands to hot-pink marshes to endless crystal fields. Sometimes it's dark and depressing, sometimes it's breathtakingly beautiful.
But I'll be the first to admit, it's anything but lighthearted or frivolous.

Bauzi wrote:and the fight scenes are bad for me. You can't see shit and you have to guess what's going on.
Exactly! (Actually, I found the combat easy to follow, but I know what you're referring to.) The directing style is often very subtle; that's one of the first things that turned me on to this anime. I was watching ep. 1, and I saw this puff of kicked-up dust spin into a whirlwind as a result of Casshern's sudden movement. Sure, they could have just shown what happened on screen, instead of an indirect result of it--but that wouldn't have been as interesting.

Bauzi wrote:The 1. episode turned me off so fast!
I watched it and thought to myself, "if every single episode is just like this, I'll be perfectly content." And I was. ^___^

But hey, don't think I'm dissing your taste. We're all different, ya know?
I don't personally like the style of, say, Afro Samurai, but I do applaud it for being unique and imaginative. I think it's great when any anime goes outside the box.

There's just one thing I hate about this show: the opening theme. Gah, it sounds terrible! imho. Although this part is awesome:

I don't know about you, but that is one distressed-looking eye. It's my desktop background.

And now, to put the thread back on topic once again!
I'd like to see one, just one, well-put-together Threads of Fate (i.e. Dewprism) amv. The old PlayStation game has no cutscenes to speak of, so it'd have to be all in-game footage, which would be problematic because there'd probably be text boxes everywhere. I don't expect it'll ever happen (though more unlikely sources have appeared in music videos). But it'd please me, since I like the game's story and characters so much.

Another good Risky Safety vid would be nice. It's such a cute little series, and I did so enjoy what CorpseGoddess did with it.

I'm happy that you didn't took my opinion offensive and I don't feel dissed at all!

This "can't see shit" - kind of action pisses me of. It makes 3D films garbage (well "Clash Of Titans - 3D" was a waste anyway...). Transformers 2 give me headache and heck I'm used to frantic amvs and stuff oO For me personaly this "can't see shit" - fast style of action just covers up cheaper CG and bad fighting choreography in real movies. Anime are totaly different in that aspect. It doesn't feel like an excuse.

I would love to see more tasty and long fighting scenes with way less cuts in real movies.

Who agrees with me on this one?

*******

and yes this eye looks tasty! I also love angst and love to make angsty amvs, but the style of Casshern just didn't suite me. I blame the character design? Key - The Metal Idol is way more my thing. Especially at the end I got this nice gloomy, angsty and paranoid atmosphere.

******

Oh! I know that Steamboy isn't that great of an anime (for me; beside the visual style) and the graphics are sometimes way to dark, but in my opinion it deserved some nice amvs. Examples?
