large Upload request question

Postby Sephirothskr » Tue Sep 02, 2014 3:05 pm

When you need to make a large request, do you submit the request and just wait for it to get approved before uploading? Or do I upload and hope it gets approved? Because when uploading, it won't go past a certain point.. So if someone could explain to me that process, I'd appreciate it. (Yes I've already read the upload guide)

You wait for it to be approved. In the past its been done faster if you provide a legitimate reason (extremely high resolution, length in excess of 10 minutes, heavy use of white noise, etc.). With improvements in encoder tech and larger file size limits avaliable, you shouldn't need to get an exception unless you're uploading something in the 30 minute range at 1080p.

It's 6 minutes long, I compressed it from 800 MB to 200 MB and that's as small as it'll go without quality loss. Unless someone has some genius render settings I don't know about. But these are rather nice.

From the editing program you use try rendering it with an internet video setting, that usually gives you something around 100mb.

No. You render it uncompressed or something lossless and use a real encoding tool to do the work.

I use the an uncompressed render from my program and then use AVS Pmod to make an AVS Script file. Then put it into ZaraxGui and do the work from there. There is a whole guide on it here:

Also you can donate to the org and get a larger file upload size too.
No matter what, stay calm, stay cool and live life to the fullest.
Plus as Gene would say always go big in life.
