avatars for god's sakes!!

Postby salemshady » Wed Oct 11, 2006 3:39 am

80 by 80 pixels??!!! common!! 6kb avatars? thats ridiculous!! go to any half decent forums and even they allow for better quality avatars to go with user accounts! a-m-v.org is a major site! thousands of people come by everyday. we need to improve on the avatars that we're allowed to post. period!

80x80 is good enough.
and I believe that 6kb is the limit for uploading an avatar to the org from your machine.

it's somewhat larger if you host it yourself (ie imageshack, photobucket, etc)

It's strange..

There are words in your post, but all I can translate them as are inarticulate whiny noises.

Perhaps if you were able to articulate an actual REASON why the site should change you'd be making sense. As it is, the closest I can get is.. "this site isn't like other sites...wryyyy?"

Avatars a little larger probally wouldn't be bad as long as people weren't uploading extreamly huge filesize ones ^^
Ive seen other forums that have like 120x120 or avatar sizes.

It might be cool for large ones like that if people don't abuse them.

120x120 is looking kinda good ^_^

You'd be surprised what you can put in the limited space. I certainly have had a lot of different stuff here over the last 3 years, and I never felt all that restricted.

That said, yes, I'm a graphics whore and would abuse a limitless forum. Which goes to say that it's probably a good thing that the .org keeps me constrained in that...

The avatar sizes are fine. Unobtrusive, yet large enough to contain a reasonable sized picture. Even the stater of this topic agrees.
