Indirect link issue

Postby godix » Mon Jun 08, 2009 8:46 pm

So I was updating one of my older videos and ran into an issue of the org won't accept my indirect link. I'm using file dropper which gives me the following indirect link for the video: http://www.filedropper.com/godix-elfenl ... tmasrecipe

The problem is that the org want's a / or .htm or something at the end of the url while the link actually doesn't provide it, and if I try putting it there then it'll fuck up and redirect to file droppers home page. Any chance of removing that requirement on indirect links?

My suggestion would be to use tinyurl.com. The outputted link doesn't have a / or a .html at the end, but you can put a / at the end and it will work fine, unlike with filedropper.
For example, the tinyurl to this thread http://tinyurl.com/lab9nx/ with the / included works just fine.

Using tinyurl gives me 'ERROR: Link is not valid: 301 - Moved Permanently' with or without the / at the end. The org probably doesn't like redirection sites on links, although I'm just guessing.

Just get a page with some free hosting provider- tripod.com, webs.com, 110mb.com...
Make a quick html page with some links on it to your filedropper shit.

Actually, you know what.

There.

That will actually probably be there forever now, considering how messy my file system is.

Ya know, I actually have no problem linking to something that calls people wanting to download the video 'dolts'.
