There are a few problems with doing that.
Biggest being that most of the notable studios from back in the day no longer have members that use the site.
Studio information is not just attached to the member profiles. For 57,690 videos, it is a part of the video profile as well.
Since some users have released videos under multiple studio names that association would have to be redone somehow other than simply setting all of a user's videos to whatever new studio a user chooses.
This is a feature I've thought of before and I generally like overall concept, but besides being a lot of work to code/implement, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to implement it without heavy moderation and possibly drama. (i.e. deciding who manages each studio)
From my perspective, the least amount of admin work would be by assigning ownership based on the number of videos entered into the database under that studio name. However, it is not always the case that the person with the most videos is the one leading the studio.
Anyone who has played online games like world of warcraft will know that there can be a lot of drama within the guilds. Up to now, studio drama has primarily been limited to off-site communication. Last thing I want to do is be asked to mediate/fix studio problems or seeing studio drama being discussed in the forum. i.e. "I was kicked out of my studio for no good reason", "So and so is on a power trip", "Some user I don't know runs a studio with my studio name", etc.
