Re: Guide: How to upload AMVs
LantisEscudo and everyone else----
I actually had the correct Filezilla program, but allow me to explain.
First: I must oppologize for my outburst. Totally uncharacteristic of me. I should have waited another day before erupting like a volcano.
Second: Last night I drove 30 miles to a friends house and used his computer. We uploaded everything to the ftp server just fine. We used the link and it worked.
Third: The reason nothing worked for me was that my ISP blocks ALL connections with ANY ftp Server and Client. So now there is something else for everyone to look out for. Why does my ISP do this? I have no idea. Maybe they don't want me hogging-up their service. (Its wireless, and what I mean is I have an antenna on my roof that talks to their server antenna five miles away.)
Today I was able to test my very first AMV and everything looked fine.
Thanks for the help anyway, and enjoy. The next time I have to upload an AMV, I will just have to drive to my friends house.

Re: Guide: How to upload AMVs
you need to compress your amv to under 100MB. It shouldn't be hard to do, but if you need help you should browse/ask for help in the compression and encoding section
There are some exceptions to that rule, but large uploads (anything > 100MB) are pretty much reserved for long MEPs.

Re: Guide: How to upload AMVs
alright, then try deleting the upload request and making a new upload request for your video.
Not quite sure why that seems to work, but it usually does the trick

Re: Guide: How to upload AMVs
I put in a large upload request. Do I have to wait for it to change from pending to able to upload?
I tried to upload through the website and it lets the upload get to 33% before telling me I have the wrong password/username.

Yes, you have to wait for it to be approved before you can upload it.Jahoobano wrote:I put in a large upload request. Do I have to wait for it to change from pending to able to upload?

Re: Guide: How to upload AMVs
It's running close to 2 weeks now since I submitted the request, but it still says pending. Is it reasonable to believe at this point that it won't be accepted?
Can it normally take this long, or has perhaps something gone wrong?
Thanks for helping out btw.
