Download type - Other / Distributor

Postby anneke » Fri Jan 10, 2003 5:36 pm

There is currently two types of links people can put on their videos:

Direct or Indirect.

Could a few more categories be added, please?!

I would atleast like an Other category or one that says Distribution. This way people know the link will take them to the Red Wolf Distribution site.

I'm also setting up a mailing list to inform people of when I rotate my videos incase they just want to know when I've put a specific one up.

Another suggestion is one that says File Share, and it's not a link, or it pops up a window where the user's download/file share instructions are displayed.

I would suggest maybe a link for ICQ/File Transfer. That the users could link their AIM id to, and if the user is there they can contact them.

Just suggestions... But the Distribution link type would be greatly appreciated! (Sure it's indirect but it so much more indirect then file share, etc... that it should have it's own classification.)

Can someone respond to this?

Has the idea already been suggested? Is it a bad/good idea?

Thanks.

Hey Anneke,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

The multiple types of downloads is on the ToDo list. Also there is a "Fan management" item that will allow you to send emails and other stuff to people who sign up as your "fan".

Of course, these items take time, but my time and effort are currently concentrated on the Golden Donut and now the Viewers Choice Awards. I (or someone else) need to come up with a system to allow others to contribute to the coding portion of the site...

Okay, thanks!

I've actually created my own Fan management. I have a Yahoo Groups Mailing list. It's kind of scary to think I have fans. I figure they are all just waiting for my CSS video and then will disappear.
