*screams in frustration at influx of newbies*

Ok, better.

First off, this belongs in Site Help. Don't create a new thread there like the last guy I said this to, somebody will move it for you.

Second, it's not THAT hard to upload your video. Once it's listed on the Org, you click Upload Videos. You select your video. It gives you FTP info. You plug that info into an FTP client. You upload your video. When the upload is finished, you confirm it on the website. Voila. What's so hard about that?

People always forget to say the most important thing...
You cannot upload or download from the local/carrot server until you have been a member for more than two weeks.
So you'll just have to be patient I'm afraid

Excuse me, I also tried to upload a video for the first time. I've been a member for nearly one year now. I click on "upload video" and no matter how many times I enter the song/anime-informations, it says something's missing (yes, I entered a premiered date). When I retry, it still lists my video under music not listed/anime not listed. I must really be stupid, but please give me a hint (I must confess, I didn't search ALL the 14 pages of this section, sorry).
Thank you very much!

Hey katori,

That's an easy answer: You don't have any anime or music listed in your videos. Start by going here:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... videos.php

Once anime and music is listed, you will be able to upload.

Hi, thank you for the fast answer, but it still doesn't work. I go through steps 1-3 in edit video and on step 4 it still says there's something missing...

Mine too

Postby squeechan » Thu Jul 31, 2003 9:56 pm

Mine does the same thing. I enter in the information, and when I get to the end it says I skipped something. I go back..and indeed, the information is gone. I try and put it back in there again, and the same thing happens.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. I'm trying to upload my first video(I've been a member for 4 months) but I can't seem to find where it says 'Filename'.

I've searched every step about 20 times until I finally realized that the buttom just wasn't there. And yes, when I try to fill in the link data, it seems to immediately delete it. I'd really like to get my video's uploaded before I leave for Costa Rica on Saturday

Hey Pyle,

If you're trying to actually upload your vid, you should use the information on the "video upload" page with your FTP client (all information about FTP is linked on the video upload page) and not use step 4 of your video info. If you are just trying to link your vid to an external server, you're in the right section, but you will have to be more descriptive on the steps you are taking to try to put the link info in.

Uploading

Postby squeechan » Fri Aug 01, 2003 4:56 pm

I don't think the actual problem here is being seen. In order to be able to upload, you first have to put in the information in the step process. Anime, Music and so forth. However, both of the Anime and Music sections, won't register that I've even chosen something as being there. I try to upload, and it of course says that my video needs an anime title and what music is in it. Each time I try and put that in, after I leave that particular screen it still says it's not there. That's the real problem here.

I'm not trying to actually 'upload' the video, im trying to actually get the FILE on to the server somewhere. I have no link for the vid, but I thought that was where it was supposed to show where the file was on my comp.

I searched for a spot to show it where the video was, but it just didnt give me one. Now it's 9 pm on Friday and I've run out of time :( . I guess I'll be uploading my videos in two and a half weeks.

Copying your vidoe file from your computer to the server is called "uploading" (as opposed to copying a file from the server to your computer which is called "downloading"). The only way to upload your file to the server is with FTP.

There isn't a spot to show where the video is on your computer. That's what FTP is for. Sorry for the confusion.

You have to save those settings, it's really quite simple but if you don't look carefully if can be confusing.

Well obviously I'm missing something then..because I don't see anyplace to save the information before moving on to the next step.
