Help! can no longer use the preview option.

Hey guys,
Hopefully this is a quick fix, up until yesterday I was able to use the preview function with no real problems. I would see a blocked flash area(which I still do) and after clicking the flash to authorize it to play the preview was working pretty much flawlessly. I tried yesterday to install some older codecs for an old program I felt like revisiting. I still was having problems and decided it was not worth the effort so reset the codecs ( I thought). The problem popped up right there so I was hoping some guru type would point me in the right direction for a fix, whether it is a codec issue and what codec to re-install or if I need to change or reinstall browser or a microsoft dll etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

Try reinstalling your Flash Player plugin.

Unfortunately that did not work either. However through a different browser the preview option still works. So if you have any ideas for firefox they would be appreciated.
