Alright, I know this recommendation has been brought up before, but I'm going at it again.
In order to make new members feel welcome and to keep newer people here, I would like it if we were to have an Introduction subforum. I've always felt that it would be nice to have an Introductions section, but now I feel that it is important to have one. This is because the community has gotten a lot smaller and more tight-nit. While numbers are a concern, that's not my main worry here. When people talk about cliques on the org and such, I cant help but feel that clique takes up about 90% of the org, so it's not really a clique. We're just a community who's members are really close to each other and that's great, but it alienates new people when they see this. At most, they'll download a few videos and in rare cases, make a forum post.
If we create an Introductions section, this would give new people more attention and feel like they've got a spot in our community. A lot of people here are pretty friendly and this gives people a chance to meet them a little more directly. In addition, a lot of newcomers tend to have questions or like to share how they've gotten into amvs. This would be a great way for them to share that experience or get help with those questions.
I think that we should at least try this out as a social experiment on the org. If after a while, we think it's somehow bad for the org or it's not beneficial, at worst, we can just remove the section. If the org is afraid of this area becoming a spam section, we can implement a 2 week time limit on the threads in the subforum.
Also, FallChild and I are willing to mod this section if the man power is needed. Please note, FallChild mentioned wanting to mod the section first, but I'm also willing to help if it's needed.
