I've now worked out a way to rip BDs and edit them on the Mac. So I will eventually be trying this. If there's a source I actually want to edit with in HD...

If you actually knew how to encode, getting a 720p amv under 100mb would be generally feasible. Actual 1080p anime sources are somewhat rare, but it shouldn't be too hard to get a 1080p under 100 just fine anyway. So instead of dissing others for using SD shows, blame yourself.

only if you are using aac or atrac or mp3 or vorbis, flac and pcm will kick your ass.

Well, if you go over the local limit even for a few bytes, you're out... so well, it technically has a negligible amount of weight but it still sums up to the total.

they should not have a limit, nubiles aren't going to finish uploading an uncompressed file, and will find out it needs to be compressed, non-nubiles will have breathing room for meps and special cases, everyone is happy. In a truly capitalist system, rations don't exist and monopolies lead to unlimited potential, why regulate when you can procreate? Sex is fun.

The limit exist to make sure people don't start abusing the org storage...
...and it's possible to make a large upload request for the special cases like meps and so on.
If you want HD that badly, put the HD version on some other host and use a direct/indirect link in the progile, leave the local for a lower res.

Yes, they are, that's the problem. Remove the limit and the first thing you know the server is full because of uncompressed stuff.
