Who needs large avatars again?
Personally, I kinda wish the limit was 100x100, since that seems to be the norm in my experience, and I'd be able to use the same images I use elsewhere. But I'm not really bothered by it.

How does larger text compensate for a image?Melanchthon wrote:I would be happy to see avatars scrapped, if the usernames were made larger to compensate.

perhaps you are a computer whiz kid who spends too much time on the computer. some of us dont spend half as much time as u do .. and so for us out going people.. it is very inconvinient to look around for pictures for their avatars that fit the bill.. let alone make one using photobucket or whatever the hell it is!madbunny wrote:It's strange..
There are words in your post, but all I can translate them as are inarticulate whiny noises.
Perhaps if you were able to articulate an actual REASON why the site should change you'd be making sense. As it is, the closest I can get is.. "this site isn't like other sites...wryyyy?"

Haha, where to start here.
Ok, lets just ignore that resizing a picture isn't what most people call 'highly demanding' in terms of mental skill. Lets also ignore that photobucket use is free and consists of essentially four mouse clicks to use. (log in, select picture, upload).
I didn't know that outgoing people had it so hard. Sorry about that all you outgoing people.
What I was getting at, is that you didn't really make a point in your first post, other than to complain that this sites avatars are smaller than other sites. This is something that surely, many people have already noticed. I'm also willing to stake a bet that 'some' of the mods here even have accounts on other sites that allow larger avatars.
What I was getting at is that you didn't give the administrators a good reason to change it. Without a reason, why would they mess with something that essentially is of little consequence?
Try this on for size:
Dear forum administrators,
I've noticed that the avatars size limit on this forum is very constrictive.
I would like to see it changed for the following reasons
a)
b)
c)
etc...
The reason that I think this would make the forum a better place is:
1)
2)
3)
I'm sure many users will agree with me, and if its made known as a member donation benefit perhaps it will even enhance the site.
etc... etc... and so on.
Instead what I see is... "Whaaaaaah! I want a bigger avatar, that site over there lets us use them! Why can't I have one?"

Dear forum administrators/downwithpants,
I've noticed that the average forum user on this forum are very annoying.
I would like to see the banhammer passed out for the following reasons:
a) It would be interesting
b) We might cut back on the people running to the wrong authorities
c) You wouldn't have to do so much
etc...
The people that I think should have this privledge are:
1)Godix
2)Requiett
3)Lyrs/Sarahtheboring/Madbunny [Cycle through these 3, when one doesn't get the right guy another will]
4)Donator Option
I'm sure many users will agree with me, and if its made known as a donator option perhaps it will even enhance the site.
etc... etc... and so on.
