That gives me an idea for a video.genestarwind21122 wrote:Why do I hear the lyrics: "It's the end of the org as we know it."
Seriously though I don't think this is the end of the org. Phade has done a great job and we will have to keep our fingers crossed.
Evanescence, Seether and Creed videos no longer available

The org may be doomed to be shut down. But not anytime soon, for example, someone finally was sued for uploading on Bittorrent. The shocking part was that it wasn't related to the Advent Children release, on Bittorrent, when 60,000 people were getting it the second day it was on that. Whenever the org is shut down, there are still going to be distro of videos privately, or through conventions and clubs.
I would not petition the Artists themselves, if you must petition, because the Artists make a very small fraction of profit from record sales, they mainly make money from concerts and merchandise such as shirts. I mean most of the newer bands prefer that you listen to them so you will go see them in concert. There is easy way to win this argument, unless you can find a full proof way to say this is creative expression or something like that. The bottom line is that they could do worse and they could have taken this even farther than they have.

Not to mention, if anything AMVs have CAUSED me to buy more music, so I can listen to some of the great songs I hear in videos in the car/etc.
If the record companies shut down the org, then they're stupider than Fed-Ex, suing the guy who runs fedexfurniture.com.

The anime industry has it right. I mean they know amv's are out there and as long as you don't use the english voices over here, that's all they really care about. Because the audio from the anime could be a spoiler to the series. Any amv by the look of the scene can be distorting the anime or telling the anime. Making an anime look better than it actually is too. Really it is free advertisment for the anime industry as long as you don't use the voices of the characters in your videos. But we knew it was going to come down to the music industry. Only if the music industry can see things the way the anime industry does then we may not have this problem. Really if you hear one good song from the band don't you want to check out more and then buy the cd if you like it?
The way I look at it were not the only ones losing out on this but they are as well. They are just shooting themselves in the foot and they are too blind to see it. They are concern about money, money, money. If people are downloading these videos they willn't go buy the cd. They need to think if these people never heard of this band then the cds willn't sell. Because I never even heard of Master Plan (Spirit Never Dies) before coming here to the org or Thousand Foot Krutch (Open Your Soul). And I've checked them out and bought there cds. If more are to follow some of these bands you'll never hear because they are not played on your radio stations where you live.
Anyways that's my statement. It is time to move on and we can still privately exchange the videos that are now gone from the org. Well contact me if you want any of my Creed videos.

This is the way I see it: If the music industry wants to shut down ANYTHING, they should should focus on the sites that have posted their songs illegally, NOT A MUSIC-BASED FORM OF ANIME FANDOM ! If AMVs are anything, their a free form of POSITIVE PUBLICITY! I've seen AMVs that have made me want to go out and buy every album a band has ever made (of course, I'm broke so...). I only wish the TV industry would create an AMV Channel . I'd pay for that (well, my dad would but...).
The ducks... THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!
