Random Server Tuning

Post by derobert » Thu Jan 27, 2005 9:57 pm

We were apparently running out of Apache processes on Nago; I upped the number to 350. Then we started running out of db connections on Yuri. So I upped that to 700...

Please IM me if anything else breaks.

Keeps us from seeing random error messages, like the sort that prompted me to copy/paste it to derobert and cause (at least in part) this tuneup.

So is that what caused the sporadic phpBB critical errors last night?

Hey, to keep my reputation intact, I'd like to point out that my first fix (upping the number of apaches on Nago) is what broke it in the first place.

I've seen this error on another phpBB of which I'm a member.

It means that someone signed up to receive e-mail notifications whenever the thread you posted on is replied to, and apparently the server had a problem sending said notification.

Usually when the email is bad and the server gets a bounce. I've seen it too.
