This thread is going to become the longuest "we'll miss you" card ever :D

Congratulations for all you've done, Phade, and I wish you a happy life.
Good luck to the new Admins, I'm sure they will do some good work.

Merci pour tout Phade :)

Over three years that I've been making AMVs; this site has been the backdrop the entire time. And I may be following you, Phade. Too much Real Life stuff intruding...I was thinking earlier this evening - before reading this thread - that I need to quit AMVs for 6-12 months just to catch up.

Anyway, due to what was playing on my TV as I started reading this subject, your departure will forever be associated with the cheap English dub of Gammera the Invincible. :D

I think it's called "imprinting", something you're going to have personal experience with in the very near future. Best of luck!

I've been a member of this site almost as Long as Quu. I think when we were comparing our ID numbers for the site mine was the second entry after his.

Let me just say thanks for everything Phade, I remember back to when amv's were just done by scattered handfulls of people, and only a few websites existed that were dedicated to amv's.

You were the person who allowed us meet, greet and discuss our love of amv's on a level higher than the mailing list would allow. The addition of the golden donut was also the biggest gift one could offer to the amv community, a way creators can get their videos out to the people.

My site has been gone now for almost 3 years. I know what it's like to give up your place on the web when it becomes something that you can no longer do.

Congrats for your child, and I hope good fortune and wealth find your family.

You shall be dearly missed

Postby darkpeace » Wed Jun 02, 2004 9:36 am

You shall be dearly missed Phade, thanks to you I have learned much about animé, and using AMVs I can get a viewers impression of an animé after watching an AMV they created.

Truely a most remarkable community has spawned from this site.

Regards and best of luck in the future,

Goodbye / Butterflies Butterflies (a poem by me)

Postby DCT » Wed Jun 02, 2004 12:49 pm

Thanks for creating this web site and for allowing me to be apart of it.

Butterflies Butterflies

You don't know me and I don't know you

But I know I will miss you

Its hard to say why

But I feel like I want to cry

Saying goodbye

Why?

Why must it be this way

Cherish the moments you share with your child

Becoming a father must be wonderful

Butterflies Butterflies

Goodbye

What a shock...

I've been watching AMV's for a long, long, time and through it all you were always in the background, nurturing this hobby.

Someday, someone will mention the your name and no one will reconize it. I will be watching and I will tell them of the man who created a catolog to organize AMV's and a ranking system to sort them. The man who created a forum for people to share ideas and make freinds, the man who pushed for the golden doughnut and made it happen when it seemed like even the dangling carrot was a utopian dream. I hope you stop by from time to time but even if you don't, you will be gone but not forgotten.

This hobby becomes more and more popular and I can think of three overarching reasons: The rise of non-linier editing, the growth of the internet, and you, Kris McCormic.

So long and thanks for all the memories.

Well, I have to say, I saw this coming, athough I didn't think it would be so soon.

What I said in the letter with my donations was what I meant, and I don't really remember all of it and it's really be a bother to type it up again(Even if I could find the rough draft! o.o)

All I've got to say is that if AMVs ever go down in hinstory, which they might be since this hobby is becoming so popular(much like fan-manga in Japan?) Everyone who can edit will know now and forever that you were the founder of AMVs.

And as such, your name will go down in History.

Parenting is a very difficult job, as you may know. And you're going to go through tough times. But just like you did with this site, you will pull through. And for that, you are one of the best people on the planet. I don't know about everyone else, but I aspire to have a character similiar to your's, in that you give and give and expect nothing in return, even though the people you give to are sometimes very greedy and leech.
Yet you give to them anyway.

That's what makes you memorable, even to the people who don't realize it.

Thanks to your site, as others have said, I have met new people, friends, possibly even the person I will be with for the rest of my life.
For these things, and my love of this hobby(which could have never been found without you and your forum full of people who help everyone), I can say that I love you.

I love you, because you've been there, behind the curtains, managing the workings of a small society formed by lots of different people.

And although others may not admit it, they love you too... As in, the family sort of love, since the org is really just a great, big, extended family.

Thank you Kris, for everything. You have made my life better.

I was struggling with Depression, and the org gave me my first journal. When people replied, even though it had nothing to do with AMVs, I learned I needed help. I have to say that my life has been truly affected by you, because if it were not for the things this site provided, I would probably not be alive right now.

Thank you again Kris...

And for the closing line...

If your having a kid being a father is FAR more important that some internet crap, you should atleast give your kid full attention for a few years =/ well not full but you know what i mean

Geez man. Cut the guy some slack. Remember that there are two people going to be taking care of the baby. When a couple has a baby (If they have a good relationship) they take turns. You have to. Otherwise one of them will go insane. I know this cause I have a 3-year old daughter. My husband and I took turns and much of my free time was spent on the net. And I also spent much of it just hanging out with my family. :)

Phade- Good luck. You'll enjoy being a dad. ::Thumbs up:: I know my husband loves it. :D My only regret in your leaving is that I wish you had answered my occasional emails so I could've gotten to know you.

Without this site I don't think I would won at ACEN. It's all because I was able to get feedback on my vids and learn from what others had done that I've come as far as I have. *Bows deeply* Arrigato gosimasu (Sorry if I spelled that wrong.)

.....Did that just sound frighteningly like some kind of stupid acceptance speech to anyone else?  Songbird21 no bakka.

...This...this...this is so sad...Phade really made me feel good about making an AMV...and now...leaving...? Argh...I'm still going to dedicate my AMV to him, as I've planned to for a long time, but for some reason, I have a feeling that it won't seem as heartfelt, because I have a feeling lots of people are going to...

...Darn it...I hope Phade watches my AMV, at least...
