I had no idea my ratings were so well balanced.

the 1,2,4,5 stars make no sense. wouldn't thumbs up and Thumbs down be equal to Two thumbs up and Two thumbs down? WE ONLY HAVE 2 THUMBS! Ok, im done being annoying for today... 8)

I don't know about that system, some of the videos I've given 4 or 5 stars to prompt that WTF? feeling. WTF isn't always bad ya know.

I troll for crap all the time hoping to find a diamond, and give new creators a brake. That's why so many 1's. Also, it does not happen very often but, if for some reason my computer can't play the file, it gets a 1.

Maybe I should change stuff around so that 3 is average, but I went with 2 for some reason and it seems to work for me. I only give a 1 if I feel the muisc and the video had NOTHING to do with each other. Or maybe if I see subtitles and the video was just average at best.

It's pretty clear that the average star ranking given should be higher than 3 because people tend to download the good stuff. But as I think Phade said, the avg. of the averages that all the videos recieve should be closer to 3. That is, if you had two videos, one with 8000 responses that average out to 4 stars and one with 5 responses that average out to 2 stars, the average of the video's averages would be 3. Using this and determining where the median, top quartile, and bottom quartile are might give a bit better picture of how videos are being ranked. Do we have this kind of number available anywhere ?

( Of course, people being people there is no perfect way to measure this kind of thing. )

so should we be aiming for a 3 or so, at least in others opinions? i rarely have anything to do, school is far too easy, so i just pick a anime i like and go through every video that has sounds like something i might like, its been give 3 op's, or generally liked, which means i go through a lot of videos. so my average ends up being around 2.16 or something.
the alternate rating system sounds pretty close to what i do. i like the rating system as it is, the way i use it, it seems great, but i guess im just give it more thought than most. oh well, more amvs!
