Done and done. Good luck to everyone. ^_^

But man, Best Romanic video was a toughie. More people should make Roman videos, methinks.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

you have been disqualified:

* Video Gods of the Forest [istiv-019] (10665) listed with AMBIGUOUS music.
* Video Red Alert [istiv-018] (10664) listed with AMBIGUOUS music.

i've ask for a deletion and ...

video
Red Alert [istiv-018]

request reason
ambigous artist name, and i really dunno the real name... the file is not on the .org server and was premiered in 2003. cause of it i can't participate to VCA 2004.

reason denied
The video catalog is meant to list every anime music video ever created, even the not-so-good ones. As long as the video was created and released to the public, the entry must stay in the catalog.

video
Gods of the Forest [istiv-019] => same thing

OK so thank you, i can't participate to VCA2004 cause of two files i entered a so long time ago ...

i just try the change music form but i guess now it's too late. i tought the deletion form was for this type of matters so i tried it first.

admin, is it really to late ?

AbsoluteDestiny wrote:See, the way the deletion works is that it effectively "hides" the video. WHen the qualified list was made I think Phade must have found the qualified members and then listed *all* their videos including deleted ones.

I'll see if I can get him to fix it, although it may involve people doing their nominations again, I dont know.
It shouldn't be too hard to join the table containing the list of qualified videos with the main video table and delete from the the qualfied table where the hidden flag is set (or visibility flag is unset) in the main table. This could also be done with a subquery, but I think it's a mySQL database, and only the newest versions of mySQL support subqueries.

Alternatively a simple PHP/Perl/etc. script could be used to grab the list of hidden videos and build another query to delete those specific entries from the qualified list.

I'm probably not saying anything you guys don't already know, but since you weren't sure if it could be done without forcing people to redo their nominations, I'm just pointing out some options that shouldn't require starting nominations over, which wiping and recreating the table might do, depending on where the votes are stored.

In case you guys do need any help with this stuff, I'm a little out of practice with SQL queries, but I'd be glad to try to help if necessary. :)

Hey,

Errors fixed. Sorry about that. I did forget to ignore deleted videos when creating the "qualified" list.

Well, the rules of this contest are the most ridiculous rules I've seen.

Why a music video about Resident evil game is considered like a non anime music video but it's not for the Final Fantasy game ????
It's a problem, no ?

Why non anime music video disqualify others videos with anime footage ??? :x I don't understand !!!

Well, some creators are disqualified for stupid reasons even for voting !!! Wgat is it ? A friends's contest ?

But it's maybe logical, since few months, even the 10% top become more and more absurd and corrupt... :x

a-m-v.org.... the AMV's reference
