Multi Track Editing.

Postby Brolli411 » Tue Dec 10, 2002 8:52 pm

I am trying to get a clip where there are a few different videos going on at once in the screen. Something like what was done in Shameless Rock Video, when it shows the big screen with all the other images. I've got the part down on how to add the video tracks, now I just need the proper way to zoom them/position them. Is there an easier way than to right click on it and go to motion, then have to set the starting positions, and the ending one? Or is there a more accurate/quicker way?

The short answer: In Premiere, no. In After Effects, yes.

The Long answer: I'll pre-empt klinky here and plug the Transform filter which will allow you to do the same thing, but it'll be just as complicated as doing it with motions settings. Yes, Ian did it in Premiere with Motion settings. From what he told me, it was NASTY and took eons to render. AE's more suited for this kind of compositing.

Ah, I see. Well until I get After Effects, I guess I will have to stick to the motion setting. Thanks ErMaC.

The transform.... >_<

FUCKER!

Well, if you're only messing with TWO or THREE tracks, it's probably not going to be that hard. If you get into like what was it ? 47 tracks(IAN is insane), then it gets dirty...

And Adobe could make it sooo sooo much nicer if they just expanded the damn preview window, put a fake white line around the res of your video and allowed for realtime placement of your clip. >_< nope, not going to happen tho.
