Automated Clips

Postby Jace Tsunami » Tue Dec 10, 2002 4:27 pm

In windows movie maker it cuts footage into smaller clips for you automaticly. This makes it a whole lot easyer to edit, instead of using somthing like an entire half of an episode. I've heared tons of times this can be done in premiere but I never figured it out. I have 6.0, does anyone know how to do what I'm talking about?

Not entirely sure how to splice a video into separate clips in Premiere...but you CAN use the dual-monitor editing mode to set in and out points EXTREMELY quickly. Easy as hitting the "i" and "o" keys in the source window and dragging the clip down...

true, but you still have to browse through the clip to see where you want to cut it. That takes power. It's just so much easyer to see the moment you want and be able to grab it, with out searching. I'd say this and overlapping for an automatic transition were WMM's on good points.

I haven't found a feature as such, nor do I have use for one.

Sure it may be convient, but I am pretty sure it's not perfect. I'd probably be merging clips together and it would be annoying. Start yelling at the computer "why did you end it there damnit!".

Also auto transitions. I'd more then quickly delete the sucker once it was added as there are more ways then one to do a transition in premiere and the transitions in Premiere are quite lacking in professional quality :O
