lossless means that you don't loose quality no matter how many times you comrpess the video.

most editing programs should be able to handle wmv files...though if you try to compress wmv files you will most likely regret doing so

so the best bet is....huffyuv?

or is there something better or simalar that dosent take up as much space....and also, y would i b sorry if trying to compress wmv*(yess as u can guess..i'm a nwebie..)

and finally, is it best to convert all video into huffyuv...like say for premiere...i'm not getting an error message in this but i am in after effects....is it okay to use a mixture of videos that are diffently encoded?

I'd say that the best is Lagarith (it gives smaller files than huffyuv)

if you're having trouble, then you should try clicking the "always suggest RGB " box that should appear in both huffy's and lagarith's configuration
sometimes you can get errors because your video isn't in an acceptable colorspace

lagarith is a seperate codec that you need to download
http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html
get the codec and installer, unzip the files and right click the .inf file and select "install"

you should also get virtualdubMod, it supports the import of more filetypes (among other things)

Keep in mind that (as of last I checked) Lagarith-encoded files are usually slower to decode than HuffYUV-encoded files, which may be a consideration if you're editing with them.
