After Effects Audio Question

Postby Krisqo » Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:47 pm

If this is a AE working normally, I don't see how you guys can work with it.

I imported a project from Premiere into AE and set it in the comp like normal. Now whenever I play it, I get no audio. The only time I do is when I do a RAM preview. Is there any way to get the audio to play without doing the preview since I need to add some beat specific effects to the video?

I have had that same experience (AE 6.5)
I just hope that anything I do ends up syncing...or I move it forward/back a few frames until it does...but being able to hear audio outside of ram preview would be nice to know how to do (if possible)

Yea, I just realized i had the same problem... I could have sworn it was diferent when I used AE for my last project. Am I dreaming, or did it all work fine in AE 5? because 7 isn't doing it for me.

ya ctrl and drag in AE 6.5 works well but if you'd like at least a lil more visual you can right click on the audio and select convert to keyframes. It'll make another layer with the audio keyframed. Works pretty well if your doing beat syncs.. well for me anyway.. just zoom all the way in.

I find that using Adobe Audition is best for dealing with audio. Looking at the spectrum and wave form visually and finding out exactly where certian beats and sounds happen. Then just setting your keyframes at the same time index in AE
