Adobe Premier *noob* help?
Okay, I'm completely new with Adobe Premier. The only other program I've worked with was Windows Movie Maker, and that's fairly simple to use. And now, I go to Adobe Premier, and I'm nearly fainting due to the shock of my own stupidity.
I need to make a few amv's for a japanese class, and I have
1) no idea how to actually save the clip I cut, and
2) have no idea how to turn it into an mpeg file, since that's pretty much the only thing that'll play on the macs at my school.

I thought that some video editors just had the option to save their clips as mpegs.Scintilla wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... xport.htmlemeraldpheonix wrote:Okay, I'm completely new with Adobe Premier. Premiere isn't some video editors.emeraldpheonix wrote:I thought that some video editors just had the option to save their clips as mpegs.Scintilla wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... xport.htmlemeraldpheonix wrote:Okay, I'm completely new with Adobe Premier. Re: Adobe Premier *noob* help?
I know. My problem is, I don't know which video editors would do that. I honestly don't want to have to go through all of that to just get a handful of 30 second clips for a class project. Because after this project, I don't think I'm going to use it again.Scintilla wrote: Premiere isn't some video editors.
I'm sorry for my ignorance, but it's just so confusing. I just need to find a simple way to cut out parts of a file, paste them as they are (no effects whatsoever), and save them as mpegs because my school has to be completely difficult and use macs, which to my trial and error sessions, don't give me problems when I play mpeg files.

... Oh, oops. I thought you meant that you wanted to convert your final video to MPEG.
In that case, it would probably be easiest to use TMPGEnc and set the "Source range" filter (on the Advanced tab of the settings) to take only the part you need. Just make sure to save the file at full resolution and a high bitrate, so that you lose as little visual quality as possible.
