Alright, I just now got Sony Vegas and I am wondering if
it is worth keeping, what can I do here that I can't do in
Ulead VideoStudio.
Also, Premiere is giving me some trouble with it's preview
window. Can't I preview my transitions in this window too?
Everytime I play my project it won't show my transition
effects.
And as for Adobe After Effects, Is it worth it and what can
I expect to be able to do with anime footage.
Please give me a shout back.

vegas and premeire are pretty much hand in hand. Pick one and stick to it. After Effects is pretty much only used for compisiting or doing things that you're primary editng program can't do or not as good.
As for your premiere pro thing, i dunno, i don't use pro. As far as i know, pro renders in real time so it should work. should make sure you are using an editable codec like huffyuv and not using divx/xvid.

Not even if you scroll through frame by frame?Chronic_neo wrote:Also, Premiere is giving me some trouble with it's preview window. Can't I preview my transitions in this window too? Everytime I play my project it won't show my transition effects.
Also make sure you have a fast codec set as your preview codec, something like MJPEG, so that Premiere will have a better chance of playing the preview files back in realtime. Premiere Pro is almost never as good at realtime playback as it thinks it is, and that's one of the only things that still bugs me about the program.
You might also want to set the monitor to Draft quality; that should also speed things up.

In premiere you need to render out your previews if you want to see the effects. Alternatively you can hold down the (alt I think) key and drag the scrub past your effect to force your computer to show it.
After effects is worth every penny if you use it.
Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a night. Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

The Alt key is unnecessary in Premiere Pro; Pro will always show the effects when you scrub, it's just that there might be a slight delay before the frame comes up.madbunny wrote:In premiere you need to render out your previews if you want to see the effects.
