Premiere Pro 2.0 and Avisynth scripts

Post by Skysaurus » Sat Sep 23, 2006 12:20 pm

Okay, I have Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and for some reason it won't allow me to import .avs files for video editing. I have the AMVapp installed, which was supposed to have a plugin to let me edit .avs files in Premiere Pro, but I don't know if it works on 2.0. Anyone have any words of advice or wisdom on the subject?

Thanks, but when I went to install it in the plugins folder, I found that I already had it in there... and it wasn't doing anything for me. :(

what is the error you see when you try to import the avs script?

make sure that your project settings are a perfect match with the video settings that you import into the avs script.
framerate, resolution, etc

I think that the settings only matter at the end of your avisynth script...so if you put assumefps(24) at the end of your script with 23.987 fps footage and your project setting is at 24 fps...it should work

Basically, it's been saying that the file type I'm trying to import into the project isn't a supported type. It doesn't even show up in the "Import" window unless I set it to look for "all files."

The plugin is not installed properly. It may not be in the correct folder.

General Comment: Premiere Pro 7.0 (the version before Pro 2.0) is a better version in a lot of video author's opinions because you have more control over the project settings than you do in 2.0, and because it has native Avisynth plug-in compatibility out-of-the-box.

I have both 7.0 and 2.0 (along wigh Sony Vegas) and it appears Adobe actually made 2.0 slower in a lot of respects by adding features -- actual program features -- You don't need like the auto-scrolling of the timeline when you playback and other things that could have gone to actual editing functionality in my opinion.

No version of premiere has avs support out of the box.

I meant it has native plug-in support out-of-the-box

Will everyone please stop calling it "Premiere Pro 7.0"? We haven't even gotten past Premiere Pro 2 yet.

Just Premiere Pro is fine, or Premiere Pro 1.0 if you have to put a number on it.
