What software should I use?

Postby Silvyfirst » Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:06 pm

I've just decided to start making AMVs but I don't know any good software of video editing and I would like to receive some advice from the guys who have been creating AMVs for a while: I'm not looking for an easy-to-use application... what I search for is a complete software with lots of options and effects to make AMVs that are really customized and that don't just cut and paste clips together.
So I was wondering what software you use and what you think of it.
Thanks to everyone who will help me making a choise :D

Thank you :D , I was also thinking of choosing Adobe Premiere.. anyway among Adobe Products there are complete toolsets, as well... is Premiere enough? Or it would be better to get a toolset?

I don't see any "toolests" on adobe's site...but if I had to guess, I'd say that they either add on to a program you already have, or are a lite version of the program...

premiere is good enough (very good imo) but depending on what version you want, it can be a little pricey.
premiere elements 3 retails for $99 ($70 upgrade)
premiere pro 2 retails for $850 ($200 upgrade)
you can probably find on older version, like premiere 6.0, for less...but I don't know where you should look for that

bah...just saw it on the page...
it's a bundle of adobe's programs, unless you are really serious about video editing, or are planning to do work in the video field professionally (or other art) you shouldn't get this.
It includes more than you can probably use, and is pretty expensive

$1200 for the standard ($500 upgrade) and $1700 for the premium ($650 upgrade) but if you really need all those programs, this is a really good deal

Thanks a lot for your help, I think I'll follow your advice and get only Premiere!
