After Effects 5.0...anything wrong with getting it?

Postby Xarathion » Sat Sep 16, 2006 8:14 pm

Well, I'm looking into purchasing Adobe After Effects not only for AMV work, but for my other video work as well. (I'm a Film major in college and AE would be really cool to use for my personal projects as well as something I can use when I move out into the professional field)

I've looked for prices on After Effects 7.0, and don't really have any money for the deals out there at the moment, aside from Adobe's official student discount program-thing, where I have to convince my school to buy a bunch of copies, and then I buy it discounted from my school.

As such, I found a place that has AE 5.0 for fairly cheap, and it seems to be the best deal I can get anywhere.

My question is, is there anything wrong with AE 5.0? Does it still have great capabilities despite being an older build? Are there some really useful tools that later version have but it doesn't? Etc...

Thanks.

Theres been a TON of awesome stuff added since 5.0, however, 5.0 is still quite useful.
