Sony Vegas, Track list order

Postby Ayanefan » Tue Sep 05, 2006 11:25 am

Hey,

I'd like to know if Vegas can show the tracks in Descending order rather than Ascending. I'm used to Premiere and liked the layout so I would like the tracks to go bottom-up rather than Top-down.
Checked the Preferences under Options (also did Shift-Options) but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,

Ayanefan
(it's probably something simple too.)

If that's the setting from the Sony Vegas Sticky on page 5, I tried but I didn't get the same results. When you add a track to your project, the tracks are added "going downlwards" on the screen in Vegas, so the top layer is the layer that is at the bottom of your list. Premiere works the opposite, when you add tracks, they start at the bottom of the track list and when you add more, they go upwards on the screen so that the top layer is at the top.

Here's what Premiere looks like:

Here's Vegas:

So I want the track to display ascendingly on the screen like Premiere.

Yeah, I think you're right, I asked the same question late yesterday afternoon to one of my co-workers who has Vegas and he said that it's was one of the things that Vegas refused to change so they could be different from Premiere. *but that could be all BS*.
:(

I reccommend just dealing with it. It's not a fun answer, but I think it's the best you can do. Besides, it never hurts to be versatile.

Yay for adaptation!

It doesn't really bother me that much, it's just I got accustomed to Premiere with the top track being the top layer while on Vegas, the bottom track is the top layer. Just have to get used to it.

No biggie, I consider this a moot thread now.

Does it really matter? The topmost layer is the "top" layer anyway.

Leave it to me to screw things up. Reloaded, now the top track is the top layer. (A WTF moment.) I'll live with the track numbering.

Thank you!
