Rip a dvd as a single vob?

Postby bum » Fri Sep 01, 2006 10:38 pm

Is it possible to rip the main movie section of a dvd as one .vob (rather than 4,5, wtc vob's) or other file that can be opened in vdm?

Code: Select all
tccat -T [title,chapter] -i /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 > data

Depending on your toolset, execution may vary. The answer, though, is yes.

As long as all the video is part of the same title (which would be the case for movies; with TV episodes it's either one title for all the episodes or one title per episode - if the episodes have their own individual titles this wouldn't work), SmartRipper can do that easily. You just have to make sure that in the Settings dialog you have it set not to split the files at a certain size (or set the limit absurdly high; 8600 should cover it, since that's approximately the capacity of a full dual-layer DVD), and then to use Movie mode to select the video.

Dvd decryptor has a setting in the options as well.
Settings>IFO Mode>File Splitting.

You can combine already-ripped VOBs into one through MPEG Streamclip.
