I feel like a complete tard but...

I was wondering just how I go about working with AVI files in Premiere 6.0. Every time I try to import one, it says it's unsupported. Does AMVapp fix this? If that's the case, I'll shut up now.

Methinks you're attempting to import raw *coughdownloadedcough* footage into Premiere.

This is a no-no. I won't bother using the pretty-pretty GIF to demonstrate my point, but I'll leave it at, "Premiere hates j00r MPEG4."

Get VirtualDubMod. Open the AVIs you're trying to put into Premiere. Make clips, and when you encode them, make sure you:

1.) Disable all audio streams
2.) Compress using HuffYUV or Lagarith

Premiere loves j00r HuffYUV and Lagarith AVIs. So please, appease your editing software. Feed it yummy-yummy files.

So, in a sense, yes--AMVapp does fix this. Just not the way you were hoping it would. Premiere doesn't like XviD/DivX. So don't use them.

This gives me an opportunity to pull out my favorite all-time banner:

save it in huffyuv and try again.

Don't mean to double post here, but I get an unrecognized exception error in DGIndex. I've checked the page, but I can't find my problem. Anyone else experience this? What did you do to fix it?

Thanks again.

Ignore the previous post along with this one. I messed with it a bit, and have found my problem.
