Really short version:

1: Rip DVD with DVD Decrypter
2: Index the VOBs with DGIndex
3: Create or Modify an AviSynth AVS script file
4: Load the AVS file into VirtualDubMod
-or- 4a: If you are using Adobe Premiere load the AVS file and edit -> skip to 6
-or- 4b: Create a fake AVI from the AVS file to load into your editing software -> skip to 6
5: Create clips to edit with in Huffyuv or Lagarith AVI format
-or- 5a: Convert the whole episode to Huffyuv or Lagarith AVI (HUGE FILES, not recommended)
6: Load audio and video clips into video editor
7: Edit your AMV
8: Export your AMV (Save Movie, Render, etc.) as an Uncompressed, Huffyuv or Lagarith AVI
9: Load the Huffyuv or Lagarith AVI into VirtualDubMod
10: Compress the video with the XviD codec and the audio with MP3
--FINISHED--

If you are using Windows Movie Maker, then there are some things you need to do differently at step 8.

8w: Save Movie as either DV-AVI or WMV Lossless (you need Windows Media Encoder installed for this)
9w: Load your saved movie into VirtualDubMod with an AviSynth file using DirectShowSource()
