Encoding in x.264

Postby Gepetto » Sat Aug 19, 2006 6:58 am

I googled about a trillion sites about this, but they didn't seem reliable at all, so I figured my hard drive would be safer if I asked here first.

I was hoping someone could point me to the necessary software and a tutorial on how to encode x.264. Not just for AMVs and general anime-related material, but also "normal" video footage. Certainly the reccomended settings are different, and since I basically just do what EADFAG tells me to with XviD and what VicBond007's guide tell me to do with MPEG, I'm a complete codec idiot and am uncapable of figuring anything out just yet.
And God spoke unto the Chicken, and He said: "Thou shalt crosseth the road", and the Chicken did cross the road, and there was much rejoicing.

RealAnime. Nice GUI-based encoder. Simple to use, makes either MKVs or MP4s.
