Postby Shadow_Leaper » Tue Aug 15, 2006 4:39 pm

Well Im new to the whole game footage and such... i started reading the guide on the main site...got PSmPlay...but it wont run the disc at all. All I would like to do right now is view the footage (Im gunna be using FFx & FFX-2) I just wanna see what I could be working with right now... so I was wondering what I have to do just to VIEW the scenes without ripping them yet...?

Do i need a codec or something for PSmPlay to work...? or whats another program i could use just to view the files...?

thanks for any help

Well, PSmPlay isn't what you want for those games. For starters, you should refer to this guide. Final Fantasy X causes issues, but there are threads that explain how to deal with that. If you do a forum search, you can find more in-depth explanations for dealing with FFX, but that'll get you going in the right direction.

As for viewing before ripping... it can't be done that I know of. You have to at least rip up to the point where you get the .pss files (using Castor's guide), which can then be read in Media Player Classic (just don't try to skip a ways into the scene, as that will crash MPC).

I hope that some of that helps. If you're still having troubles, don't hesitate to ask.
